Chy at the Village

Global’s Make Some Noise

Funding The Hub to provide essential mental health and emotional support! Thank you!

💜 We’re now officially open!  💜

We held our opening day on Saturday 18th January from 9am-3pm. It is now full steam ahead, and thanks to ITV News West Country, we were very lucky to be featured by them too. Read their lovely article about us here…

Access our hub by coming through our cafe:

CHY AT THE VILLAGE, THE VILLAGE KITCHEN, GATEWAY BUSINESS CENTRE, BARNCOOSE, REDRUTH, TR15 3RQ

We believe it takes a village – to support one another and share our stories.

We wanted to create a safe space for women to come together and to spread the message that no woman should struggle alone.

Georgia’s Voice is our village – a place where all young women are welcome.

You do not have to speak or share, you can simply sit or engage in crafts, but know that you are held here – a home for young women with mental health concerns.

💜  The schedule at our new hub @chyatthevillage  💜

Every session is free to attend for any young women aged 18-25, (with the exception of our open day which is open to anyone!) no booking required for these sessions but please do get in touch if you have any questions, we will post more details about each session over the next couple of weeks

Meet The Hub Team

CIARA

Hi, I’m Ciara and I am very excited to volunteer at Chy at The Village.

It’s a really beautiful space so please come along and spend some time with us or use the space to have some quiet time for yourself.

I love a cuppa and a chat so feel free to grab me if you fancy one too.

CLAIRE

Hi I’m Claire! I’m excited to be part of the team at the Hub. Having gone through my own mental health battles, I understand the importance of listening.

My own experiences, both personally and within my family, have shown me how powerful it can be to provide support.

This sort of place wasn’t around when I was struggling! I’ll be that safe non judgemental space for any girl or woman who needs to talk, or just to hang out with talking nonsense!

EMMA

Hi my name is Emma, I have been the co facilitator for the Redruth group for 4 years, and now I’m also joining the drop in hub.

I have experience of supporting several people and members through challenges with mental health and I have a passion for supporting people.

I hope you all find the strength to pop in and see us all.

You will be met with open arms and a safe space 💜

GENEVIEVE

Hi I’m Genevieve.

I love working for Georgia’s voice as a peer support worker. The Hub feels like such a fantastic space, for people to come together and support each other. Come along this evening for a chat, a coffee or just to take some time out. We are here this evening to create a safe space just to be. Looking forward to meeting you all.💜💜💜

HANNAH

My name is Hannah Thomas.

I’m really looking forward to working with George’s voice. There is so much healing to be had by shared experience, and all the different sessions offered are brilliant ways to support and empower young women xx

JENNY

My name is Jenny Clarke. I moved to Cornwall four years ago, with my husband.

I have two daughters in their thirties. I worked in education for over 30 years, mostly in pastoral roles. I enjoyed talking to people and sign posting them for help with their issues. I am looking forward to meeting you all and playing a small part in the success of Georgia’s Voice.

JEN

My name is Jen, I’m really proud to volunteer for Georgia’s Voice and be a part of such an incredible team. Having lived through mental health issues myself, as well as helping to support family and friends going through their own personal battles, I understand the value of a safe space where young women can feel safe, feel supported and feel heard, and to know that they matter.

LAURA

Hey, I’m Laura (& keeka) and I can’t wait to become involved in the Hub at Chy! Seeing GV expand with you ladies at the heart of it, is something I am very excited to be involved with.

What a wonderful space we have, whether you are wanting to come and get creative, chill & watch some TV or have the space to unwind and decompress – we have got you! If you are feeling a bit unsure or anxious then please remember – Chy is new to everyone… together, we will push through those worries and create something beautiful Can’t wait to meet you all 💜

MICHELLE

Hi, I’m Michelle, and I’m super excited to be part of Georgia’s Voice and the incredible work we are providing at the hub. It’s about making sure everyone feels supported, welcome, and understood. I’m passionate about creating safe spaces where people can connect, feel empowered, and know they’re not alone.

I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and being part of this amazing community. Helping to reduce anxiety and encourage positive mental health is so important to me, and I can’t wait to see the difference we can make together. 💜

SILVIA

Hi, I am Silvia, I really look forward to working with you at the Hub.

In my life I wear 2 hats, as well as a Peer Support Worker for Georgia’s Voice, I am an Emotional and Energy Release Coach and I help women of all ages to overcome stress, anxiety and depression so that they can start to thrive instead. In the past I have also worked as an artist and also run my own Italian food business!

So I am really looking forward to get creative and offer you anything that you are interested in: from creative activities, maybe some cooking and relaxation, meditations and movement activities.

My intention is to create a calm, creative and inspiring environment for you so that you can come in an relax, chill, get busy and creative while you also get to know yourself better and able to see life through new eyes.

TAMSYN

Hi, I’m Tamsyn and I’m excited to be a volunteer at Georgia’s Voice. Understanding the daily struggles of poor mental health and the benefit of having someone listen to me when I needed it, led me to become a volunteer.

I know first hand how difficult it can be to express how you feel and the effect bottling up emotions can have. That’s why I’m grateful there is now a safe space for young women who can express themselves free of judgement.

Using my own experiences and my academic journey, I hope to make a difference to people’s lives and promote Georgia’s Voice as a place that can benefit many young women.

TRACY

Hey I’m Tracy, and I’m so excited to be joining Georgia’s Voice at the brand new Chy at the Village. This hub space is all about support, connection, and simply being yourself! This is such a special place where young women can come together to relax, chat, get creative, or just be themselves without any pressure. My goal as a volunteer is to help make sure that everyone who walks through the door feels supported, understood, and never alone. Whether you want to do some crafts, watch TV, or simply sit and unwind, we are here to listen, encourage, and be a friendly face.

A little about me—I love spending time in the great outdoors, catching up with friends, and going on long coastal walks with the loves of my life—my hubby and our two full of energy dogs. Music is my passion, and at the weekends, you’ll usually find me singing into a wooden spoon and dancing around my kitchen. Nothing beats a good kitchen dance party! I can’t wait to meet you all and be part of this amazing space! 💜

TUESDAY

Hey there, I’m Tuesday, co-facilitator of the Newquay group and peer support worker at Chy at The Village. My experiences of losing friends to suicide and battling my own mental health issues drive my commitment to creating a safe space for young women seeking support to come together, as a beacon of hope. I also help individuals recovering from alcohol addiction and volunteer to enhance access to the beautiful Cornish coast path. My passion for personal growth has led me to study things such as life coaching, counselling, and hypnotherapy, focusing on mental wellbeing, trauma, domestic abuse and sexual violence.

In my spare time, I enjoy getting lost in a good book, spending time with friends (coffee and cake are my jam!), adventures with my family and our dog, La Luna, as well as cooking, astrology, tarot, board/card games, and creative writing. I often find myself wondering just how many seasons of watching Grey’s Anatomy it takes to become a fully fledged surgeon, haha! Looking forward to meeting you all and getting to know each other better!
