Safeguarding at Georgia’s Voice
How we keep our staff, volunteers, and the members we support safe
Our priority is providing safe, free, and confidential spaces for young women aged 18-25 in Cornwall. This means Safeguarding is at the very heart of our culture, practices, and behaviours and we do this to keep our staff, volunteers, and the young women we support safe.
We believe in making safeguarding personal, to ensure our safeguarding is person led, and outcome focused. Our approach to Safeguarding emphasizes the importance of engaging the person in a conversation about how best to respond to their safeguarding situation in a way that enhances involvement, choice, and control.
This is why our Safeguarding training, policy and procedure includes practical steps and actions to ensure this principle is applied in practice. We also learn from everything we do, and regularly review and improve our Safeguarding frameworks to ensure they’re as robust and effective as possible.
To ensure our staff and volunteers are as equipped to keep themselves, each other, and our members safe, we provide them with Safeguarding Level 2 training when joining Georgia’s Voice. Our Safeguarding Lead holds the Level 3 qualification, and we regularly provide refresher training.
