We strive to empower every member to be confident and capable in managing their mental health and well-being. To feel valued and better able to make the positive changes they need to live the life they want.

Our Mission

At Georgia’s Voice we provide free, friendly, safe spaces for young women to talk, listen or just be. Our mission is:

  • To support young women across Cornwall up to the age of twenty-five
  • To raise sufficient funds to create easily accessible support groups in every town in Cornwall.
  • To provide our members with high quality, person-centred support that facilitates and individual strength-based approach.
  • To enable our members to become the best versions of themselves.
  • To develop a countywide team of facilitators who have the appropriate knowledge, skills, and attributes to lead high-quality local groups.
  • To work collaboratively with menta health professionals and appropriate organisations within local communities to achieve our stated vision.
  • To create high levels of trust and collaboration so that Georgia’s Voice is greater than the sum of its parts.

Our Impact

According to the Office of National Statistics, Females aged 24 years or under have seen the largest increase in the suicide rate since their time series began in 1981. (Source – Suicides in England and Wales – Office for National Statistics (ons.gov.uk)

Georgias Voice is on a mission to to prevent suicide in Young women here in Cornwall.

We do this through our multiple free support groups across Cornwall, including an online support group for those that can’t access a face to face group, the aim is to make sure our support is easily accessible to every young woman in Cornwall.

Offering these safe, confidential spaces where young women can be listened to with empathy and without judgement is so powerful, we are validating their feelings and giving them a voice.

“I never realised how much I would gain from having 5 minutes of uninterrupted time to just say whatever I wanted and not be judged. I don’t know what I would have done if I didn’t start going to GV. I felt like I had nowhere to go and I had tried everything I could to feel better and nothing worked, until I started GV.”

Georgia’s Voice works hard to empower its members to be confident and capable in managing their mental health so they are better able to live the lives they want, as well as funding therapy, another way we do this is by encouraging integration into the community through collaborations with community groups and involving our members in events and fundraisers, because together we are stronger.
